~ Song ~ (To the melody "Fields of Athenry")

Verse 1:
In Jerusalem one day
I heard a mad throng calling,
"Crucify the man called Jesus Christ!"

So they took him away,
Scourged Him, mocked His holy name,
They laughed, and smote and left my Lord in shame.

Lo hangs my Lord upon a cross,
Midst wicked men, though innocent he was.
Why would Jesus die for me?
Suffer pain for a sinner life me?
I shall never understand the love of God.

Verse 2:
By a lonely silent tomb, I saw two women coming,
But lo the great stone was rolled away!
And the angel of the Lord,
Said "Fear not, He is here no more,
He is risen from the grave just as He said!"

Go, tell everyone that you may meet,
That Jesus Christ is risen from the dead!
Satan thought he had won the war,
But Christ arose to sleep no more.
He had died the perfect sacrifice for sin!

Verse 3:
One day in Galilee, upon a mountain high,
Jesus met with His disciples there,
But when they saw some would not believe,
How He lived they could not perceive,
Til He showed the marks upon His hands and feet.

Oh ye of little faith, when will you see!
I leave for you a Comforter and Guide.
For whoever will believe will see me when this world you leave!

"When I Saw My Saviour" ~ Song ~(Tune is Carakfergus)

Verse 1:
As I was living a life of agony,
A life of sin and shame, my Saviour came.
I did not know Him, nor did I love Him,
But I discovered that He loved me...

When I saw my Saviour on the cross of Calvary,
I knew He suffered all that day for me!
Then at last I saw that I was but a sinner,
Undeserving of the love He showed to me.

Verse 2:
I had no power to save my sinful soul,
But I discovered Christ makes men whole.
I had heard the stories of His many miracles,
How Jesus healed the sick and made men see...

When I saw my Saviour on the cross of Calvary,
I knew He suffered all that day for me!
And at last I saw that I needed Jesus,
And I accepted Him into my heart.

Verse 3:
Each day I live now, I trust in Jesus,
My heart is full of joy, and peace within.
You may not know Him, you may not love Him,
But you'll discover, that He loves you.

When you see the Saviour on the cross of Calvary,
You'll know He suffered all for you and!
And I pray you'll see just how much you need Him,
To save your soul from sin and set you free!

I know He saved my soul and set me free!
