~ The cold breath of winter ~

~

As I sat by myself, in a quiet place,

The cold breath of winter blew on my face.

It left such a chill in my heart and my bones...

And I suddenly felt so very alone.

~

I looked all around me, but no one was there,

I was lonely and cold, but did anyone care?

I looked out the window, as people passed by,

And I watched the rain fall... with a sigh.

~

I tried to imagine that someone was near,

A friend or a loved one that I held dear.

Then all of a sudden, a friend did come by,

And she stopped when she saw me, and smiled, and said "hi!"

~

The cold breath of winter was leaving my face,

As she sat down beside me, in that quiet place,

And my poor lonely poem began to erase,

In the sunshiny smile of my dear friend, Grace.

~

And I couldn't help feeling the warmth of her love,

A silent reminder of Heaven above.

I know my Friend, Jesus, was near me that day,

When the cold breath of winter was blown away. :^)

I'm going to see my Father one day.

You may find treasure in things of this world,
But where your treasure is, your heart will be also,

~ A Frosty Pane ~

A frosty pane,
A frozen window,
I write this on.

But, this in vain,
For on the morn,
All the frost will be gone.

I wrote this one night in the frost that covered the inside of this window. One of those "midnight inspiration" poems, you know. :) Still, how many vain little things do we focus on every day, and let distract us from thinking on God and His goodness?

~ Hands of Love ~

With loving hands, God made for me,
The butterflies and galaxies!
To cause delight as stars at night,
He fills our hearts with Heaven's light.

My God is love! He reins above.
He made this world with hand of love.
He gave us mothers, daughter too,
Fathers, brothers, me and you!

All are blessed with wondrous hands,
To spread God's love throughout the lands!
But, only under His command.

He, as our almighty King,
Master ever of everything,
Is the reason my heart sings!
Throughout the world this melody ring!

Jesus is the reason,
I want to sing this song,
To tell my fellow Christian,
What people say is wrong.

Some people say, "Why serve Him?
What good is God to you?"
But I know ~
My God has been so good to me!

Jesus is my Helper,
My Teacher and my Friend,

My God is taking care of me!

Jesus is my Saviour,
He loves me and He cares,
And all my joys and sorrows,
My Jesus gladly shares.
Some people say "When troubles come,
The Lord will turn away!"
But I know ~
My God will always care for me!

Yes! My God has been so good to me!

~ The Golden Path ~

Onward ever, The Golden Path,

Passing through darkened lands,

Mist, and shadows cover the ground;

Dangerous perils are all around.

Straight, and narrow runs the way;

On it, I know, the wise will stay.

Clouds of fear above me rein;

Thunderous trouble, and lightning snares.

Yet the path will bear no stain;

I will not fall into evil lairs.

Never the path of Truth will bend;

A wonderful place is at it's end.

I am but a servant, humble,
In the service of my Lord.
I am but a child, courageous,
Trusting in my Father's Word.

For, Jesus was a servant, humble,
Serving God and man, with love.
