Whenever I hear the sweet sound,
Of raindrops on the roof overhead,
My eyes come alight, full of sparkles!
And my cheeks glow all rosy red.
I turn to the window, delighted!
To see all the raindrops fall down;
I want to be right out there in them,
To laugh, sing, and run all around!
To the door I fly, for to open,
As if to let all of them in!
Then I smell the sweet smell of raindrops,
That pulls me full foreward and in.
My face, o what joy! starts a tingling,
As I lift up my face to implore;
I think of my Jesus, and thank Him,
And ask for just one raindrop more...
In return, I am showered with blessings,
And I open my mouth for to sing!
Though my song may be mingled with raindrops,
Aren't raindrops such wonderful things? :)
